About the Author: My first name is Mfundo (Education). My Hlubi mother told me the name was reserved for me while busy with her education programmes. Like so many Bantu tribes, we practiced male circumcision as initiation. In my view our cultural actions may seem insignificant and inconsequential, but are central and essential to our basic day-to-day existence and proud heritage in the new millennium.
We still pay lobola to the parents of a bride as our great-grand fathers did. At the time they worked their fields for years to buy gifts and cattle for the lobola. So many Africans have forgotten the practice!
We should never under-estimate the power of the ALMIGHTY. I have relatives all over the world, the Ndlovu clan are a bigger tribe, millions in Africa..
