About
the Book: The nature of nature is a catalogue of an art exhibition of landscapes in oil and pastel. The theme of these paintings and sketches are estuaries. This catalogue is accompanied by text in three languages. The various passages of text are not translations of each other, but all relate to (the nature of) nature. The context is primarily philosophical. The body of text skirts along prose and poetry, proceeds onto the philosophy of science, and ventures into the realm astrophysics. In pursuit of the main theme, it is submitted that the consequences of an important astronomical discovery dating back to the middle of the twentieth century should be marked and commemorated. This discovery has a significant impact on our knowledge of nature. One of these consequences calls for a radical revision of the current calendar. |
