In the meanwhile her central self behaves like a marital serial killer, engineering a series of lust filled intrigues. She deceives and connives, striving to be chosen as the most intelligent and adored person in her family and social circle. As she stumbles regularly over her own life she unravels the neurotic compulsions which underpin the puzzle of personalities she is trying to hold together. Insidiously the events and circumstances which she herself has created oblige her to learn lessons about power and submission, about love and reciprocity, about truth and its consequences. Painfully she begins to integrate her split personas and move unsteadily towards a functional, but ordinary, adulthood.
