Marital Problems and Interventions in AbeNguni Marriages

By Barbara on October 14, 2015

Marital Problems and InterventionsTitle: Marital Problems and Interventions in AbeNguni Marriages

Author: Dr Mzimkhulu Justice Ngesi

Size: 210mm x 148mm, 170 pages

ISBN: 978-0-986-67898-8 (print);

This is a self-help book for couples who want to understand the extent to which traditional and cultural beliefs of abeNguni impact on marriages. This also takes into account the influence of the unconscious mind on the thinking and behaviour of abeNguni couples. The back-ground to the customs and traditions of the abeNguni is critical in understanding their marital problems.

It is a self-help book because reading it will enable couples to understand their marital problems and be able to apply therapy or intervention. The suggested intervention and therapeutic theories are simple traditional methods that are easy to apply.

I do hope that the book will also assist those who want to help other couples’ marriages. The insight one gains in reading this book can assist one understand what is going on in any marriage and be able to apply the therapeutic interventions.

ABOUT THE AUTHOR: The author is a teacher by profession. Academically he majored in psychology to a BA Honours level, and then continued to specialise in educational psychology to a PhD level. He has worked as a school psychologist in KwaZulu Department of Education and Culture, and KwaZulu-Natal Department of Education. In all these years he has been consulting on marriage counselling and therapy. He has therefore, a keen interest in empowering premarital and marital couples for happy successful married life.

The book will indeed assist those who will carefully read it and apply the suggested approaches in their married lives.
