It is a collection of poetry that has been written by various writers who were attending the 2012 Tiego Creative Writers poetry workshop at the Museum Africa Newtown, Johannesburg. After listening to talent that was presented, Phillimon Tiego Tjale, founder and Chairperson of Tiego Creative Writers, decided to take everyone’s poems and compile a book called My Pillow which is named after one of the poems, influenced by his nephew’s ideas Thabang waga Tjale.

Even if I will be old and grey
I will take my pillow to my sleep
Even if I rest in peace
bring my pillow to my corpse
And I will rest in peace
Goodbye is what he came to say at last
A white man, a wise man
With a wisp of hair
Youth are guided through demonstrations to showcase different activities where writing serves as therapeutic healing and rehabilitation
